A Fundraising Campaign for Victims of the Earthquake

Dear friends, colleagues,
In response to the tragic events following the earthquake in Chile, NESsT has received hundreds of emails and messages of support and many inquiries from around the world, asking how to help. As a result, we have established the Levantando Chile Fund to support local Chilean nonprofit organizations that are channeling assistance to communities on the ground. In the short run, the Fund will support both immediate assistance and long-term reconstruction efforts in Chile. In the longer run, the Fund will focus solely on the longer term efforts, particularly several organizations that we know well and that are working with their communities on re-building their lives and livelihoods.
To launch the Campaign, we are also organizing a joint fundraising event and silent auction at Puro Chile in New York this Thursday evening, March 4th, to benefit the Levantando Chile Fund in conjunction with Puro Chile Corp, and The Permanent Mission of Chile to the United Nations. Heraldo Muñoz, The Chilean Ambassador to the UN, will speak and welcome guests.
We have set up an Oversight Committee of prominent Chilean and US individuals who will help to promote the campaign and ensure the transparent and effective use of funds. You can see more information about the fund and committee at: www.levantandochile.org The website also includes information on making donations to the fund through the US and Chile.
Please feel free to share this information with your contacts, add to your facebook, twitter, gmail buzz, skype, IM, or any other media tools you may use to get the word out. Join our Levantando Chile Fund group on Facebook and please invite your friends.
The photos shown here, taken by Gonzalo San Martin on the NESsT team in Santiago, attest to the horrible devastation in Chile. Thanks so much for all of your concern and continued support.
Yours sincerely,
Nicole Etchart Lee Davis CEO and Co-founder CEO and Co-founderNESsT NESsT
